The GuadaLAjara Film Festival (GLAFF) celebrates the best of Latin American cinema while providing a platform for emerging LGBTQ+ and BIPOC talent and creators! GLAFF takes place November 4-6, 2021 in Downtown Los Angeles, with some films available virtually as well.

Some of the LGBTQ+ films in the program include the closing gala documentary LA QUEENCIAÑERA, centered on trans icon Bamby Salcedo. On Friday, Nov. 5  the festival hosts a special screening of Jennie Livingston’s celebrated 1990 documentary PARIS IS BURNING, following the showing of FINLANDIA, a documentary centered the indigenous Muxes as they fight for the recognition of their gender. The shorts program includes MAR I ANA, a film directed by Mar Novo, and AT LAST, directed by Lorena Gordon.

This beautifully curated festival includes galas, features and shorts screening programs, masterclasses and special events. Visit GLAFF.ORG/TICKETS to purchase tickets and to learn more about the festival! Net proceeds will support Get Lit – Words Ignite, a non-profit organization that relies on classic and spoken word poetry to empower and support teen and youth literacy.
